IPW has been making and finishing steel on the Kinsale Road in Cork since 1984. We supply the contractors who build and renew the electricity networks of Ireland and the United Kingdom: fabricated steelwork to drawing, hot-dip galvanizing in-house, and a full range of overhead line hardware kitted and labelled for site.

We have grown over four decades by doing the same things well, repeatedly, for the same customer base, and by adding capacity and accreditation as the work has demanded it. We are not a new entrant to this market. We are not chasing trends. We are a fabrication and galvanizing business that supplies the grid, and that is what we do.

Steel Fabrication.

Plate processing, welding and assembly to drawing, certified under EN 1090 Execution Class 3. Substation gantries, lattice tower steelwork, equipment support steel, bespoke components from one-offs to programme volumes.

Hot-Dip Galvanizing.

In-house galvanizing to BS/IS EN ISO 1461:2022. A bath of 7.75 metres by 1.45 metres by 2.65 metres, with double-dip capacity to 14 metres for longer components.

Overhead Line Hardware.

Cross arms, stay assemblies, pole hardware, conductor and insulator fittings against ENA TS 43-92 and ESB Networks specifications, kitted and labelled to circuit, span or job-pack delivery.

Most of what we make is fabricated, galvanized and kitted under one roof. That removes handoffs, shortens lead times and keeps documentation tight: one supplier, one chain of certificates, one number to call when something needs attention.

80,000 square feet on the Kinsale Road in Cork. Fabrication shop, in-house galvanizing line, kitting and dispatch area, and a testing lab with tensile, hardness and metallurgical analysis capability for material verification when a project requires it.

The plant is sized for sustained volume work: framework call-offs, multi-tower OHL programmes, run-rate substation steelwork. It retains the ability to take on bespoke single-build components alongside.
